APPLICATIONS & WASTE STREAMS

For Infectious and non-infectious waste contaminated with cytotoxic or cytostatic medicines. This waste stream is colour coded purple and needs to be clearly defined, separated from other clinical waste and disposed of correctly. Cytotoxic and Cytostatic waste is incinerated at a minimum temperature of 1100 degrees C. Incineration at lower temperatures can lead to the release of hazardous cytotoxic vapours. Use for:

• waste and left over cytotoxic and cytostatic medicines
• swabs & dressings, cotton wool, tissues & blue roll/couch roll
• gloves and aprons
• IV lines and fluid bags
