Pumice is used in Ham'am ritual to exfoliate the dead skin and soften the soles of your feet, elbows, knees and rough hands that suffer from extreme dryness, since moisturizing creams are no longer enough to remedy them.
This very porous and less dense volcanic rock has a texture that removes dead cells when used directly on the skin. Its abrasive properties make it a very effective exfoliant used for long in Ham'ams and private showerooms. Pumice allows scraping the calluses of your feet and elbows, and can even replace in some cases the scrub glove.
Use method :
For our advice of use, it is essential to pre-prepare the desiccated areas by plunging them a few minutes in warm and soapy water to soften them, and rubbing them in light circular movements until obtaining the desired softness. Subsequently, rinse thoroughly with water to remove dead cells, and apply oil or a moisturizer to sooth and soften the treated areas.
It is also advisable to rinse pumice with clean water after each use and keep it in a clean, dust-free place.
